Flourish Australia: A Commitment to Reconciliation and Support After the Referendum on the Voice to Parliament

Flourish Australia acknowledges the outcome of the recent referendum on the Voice to Parliament,  and although the Yes vote did not succeed, we recognize the significance of continuing our commitment to reconciliation and recognition.

Throughout the campaign leading up to the referendum, we were heartened by the voices of many leaders, organizations, and individuals who passionately supported the Uluru Statement from the Heart and the Voice to Parliament. Their unwavering dedication continues to inspire hope for a future that values and respects the voices of First Nations communities.

We understand that the referendum campaign has had a profound impact on the mental health and well-being of many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. If you or someone close to you is in need of support, please refer to a comprehensive list of mental health helplines available [here](link-to-helplines). Additionally, you can reach out to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander support line at 13YARN (13 92 76).

Flourish Australia would like to emphasize our enduring commitment to our core values, particularly the importance of lived experiences. We firmly believe in the fundamental right of First Nations people to have their voices heard and their perspectives valued.

In light of the referendum outcome, it is essential that we treat each other with respect and, above all, kindness. Today, and every day, we must come together as a community to support one another, regardless of the challenges we face.

Our thoughts and support are extended to all First Nations peoples during this time. We remain committed to walking alongside you on the journey toward recognition and reconciliation.
